Herman W. Sachtjen : ウィキペディア英語版 | Herman W. Sachtjen Herman W. Sachtjen (November 28, 1886 – March 24, 1978) was an American politician and jurist. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sachtjen grew up on a farm in the Town of Burke, Dane County, Wisconsin. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School. Sachtjen then practiced law and was involved with the Republican Party. From 1921 to 1926, Sachtjen served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and was the speaker. He also served as Wisconsin Prohibition Commissioner. In 1926, he was named Wisconsin Circuit Court judge for Dane County, Wisconsin and served until 1927, when he was defeated for re-election. Sachtjen then served as Dane County Divorce Counsel until 1943 when he was again was named Wisconsin Circuit Court judge serving until his retirement in 1956.
